The 2022 MTSF Grant Research Symposium was successfully held on 23rd November 2022 at University of Malaya (UM). Co-hosted with UM’s Center for Ionic Liquids, a total of 15 MTSF past grantees were invited to present their final reports. The annual symposium is a prerequisite condition of the MTSF Research Grant Program where all MTSF grantees, who have completed their research projects shared their research results and findings.
The half-day Symposium commenced with a welcome address by Professor Yatimah Alias, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Malaya followed with a remark speech by Tan Sri Prof. Emeritus Dr. Augustine Ong, the Chairman of the MTSF Selection Committee. Among the panel evaluators who presided the reporting sessions included Academician Dr. Yong Hoi Sen, Professor Emeritus Ir. Dr. Mohd Ali Hashim, Professor Dr. Sharifah Mohamad and Dr. Kurunathan A/L Ratnavelu.
The symposium attracted some 100 participants, comprising young researchers, lecturers and students from various universities and institutions in and around Kuala Lumpur. Judging from the enthusiastic response and queries from the audience, the MTSF annual grant symposium has certainly helped to enhance and advance the development of Science and Technology in Malaysia.
