On 4th July 2017, Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) paid a courtesy visit to Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau, the Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) at Putrajaya. Led by MTSF Chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman and MTSF MD Mr. M. Kawamura, the visitation was aimed at introducing MTSF programs and operations better to the Ministry.
During the one-hour long meeting, MTSF expressed its gratitude and appreciation to MOSTI for the valuable guidance and strong support, since the Foundation first commenced in 1993. With further commitment to promoting Science and Technology in Malaysia, MTSF looks forward to enhancing stronger working ties and co-operation with all Malaysian stakeholders, particularly the scientific communities.
In welcoming MTSF’s good gesture and strong commitments, the Minister commended Toray Group for the unparalleled initiatives in developing Malaysia’s capabilities. He extended the Malaysian Government’s appreciation to MTSF’s sponsor, Toray for the various CSR contributions carried out for Malaysia, where Toray has operates over the last 4 decades, in line with Toray’s philosophy of “Contributing to society through the creation of new value with innovative ideas, technologies and products”.
Going forward, the Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation looks forward to attend the coming 24th MTSF Prize Presentation Ceremony scheduled on 7th December 2017 at Kuala Lumpur.
