MTSF successfully held its 24th Prize Presentation Ceremony on 7 December 2017 at Kuala Lumpur, under the patronage of YB Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau, the Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). Among the distinguished guests present included Dr. M. Miyagawa, the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, Mr. Kazushi Hashimoto, Executive Vice President of Toray Industries Inc., Japan and Tan Sri Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman, MTSF Chairman.


In the speech of the Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Madius remarked that MOSTI is proud of the creativity, responsiveness and collaborative approach displayed by the people of Malaysia, particularly the scientific and technological communities in meeting new challenges. He urges Malaysians to stay on this path and continue to strive for the success of Malaysia as a developed nation by year 2020.


He complimented Toray on the good CSR initiatives for sponsoring MTSF activities over the last 24 years. Since inception in 1993, MTSF has assisted many scientific communities of Malaysia to accomplish their personal goals besides helping Malaysia to advance science and technology, under today's complex and fast-evolving environment.


At the ceremony, a total of 30 Malaysians, comprising 2 scientists, 13 young researchers and 15 dedicated school teachers received the respective Awards and Grants totaling RM410 thousand.
