On 29th November 2018, MTSF successfully hosted its 25th Anniversary and Prize Presentation Ceremony 2018 at Kuala Lumpur, under the patronage of the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) who was represented by its Deputy Secretary General, Associate Professor Dr. Ramzah Dambul. Joining in the auspicious occasion included Mr. H. Orikasa, Deputy Chief of Mission from the Japanese Embassy, Mr. Kazushi Hashimoto, Executive Advisor of Toray Industries Inc., Japan, Tan Sri Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman, MTSF Chairman and Mr. HS Teh, Chief Representative of Toray Group (Malaysia) cum Managing Director of MTSF.
In the keynote address of the Minister, represented by the Deputy Secretary General, MESTECC is appreciative of MTSF’s efforts in advancing science and technology in Malaysia. The Ministry is proud of the creativity, responsiveness and collaborative approach displayed by the scientific and technological communities in meeting new challenges. He urges all Malaysians to stay on this path and continue to strive for the success of Malaysia as a developed nation.
On behalf of MESTECC, he complimented Toray Group on the excellent CSR initiatives for sponsoring MTSF activities over the last 25 years. Since inception in 1993, MTSF has assisted many Malaysian scientific communities to accomplish their personal goals besides helping the nation to move forward.
At the ceremony, a total of 29 Malaysians, comprising 2 scientists, 12 young researchers and 15 dedicated school teachers received the respective Awards and Grants. MTSF looks forward to receiving greater response in the coming 2019 Programs which is to be launched from January 2019.
